Hey, I’m Jonathan Penfield, the guy behind HARD HATTERZ.

I’m a husband, a dad, and someone who has spent most of his life working with his hands. My background in construction, demolition, and the military taught me something simple: show up, do the work, and take pride in what you put your name on.

Why HARD HATTERZ Exists

HARD HATTERZ started from that same mindset. I wanted to build hats and gear that felt authentic to the people who wear them — people who work hard, laugh hard, spend weekends outdoors, and don't need a logo to tell them who they are.

Today, the shop carries trucker hats, leather patch hats, workwear-inspired shirts, and custom hat options. Some designs are built around blue-collar pride. Some are made for the outdoors. Some are just here to make you laugh. The common thread is simple: I want the gear to feel like it belongs to you.
